Wendel, also known as the "Holy Capitol", is a recurring location in the Mana series. In many of its iterations, this typically grand cathedral city is populated predominantly by humans and has a mild to tropical climate.
Adventures of Mana[]
- Main article: Wendel (Adventures of Mana)
Wendel is a city to which Sumo and Fuji must travel, to meet with the city's sage, Cibba, on instructions from Cibba's old comrade, Sir Bogard. Unfortunately, the path leading to Wendel was blocked by Mr. Lee of Kett Manor, requiring them to ask him to remove it, which is done when Lee is killed after Sumo rescues Fuji from the depths of the manor.
Meeting with Cibba in the Temple, he recognizes the Mana Pendant and conducts a ritual with it, causing Fuji's Mother to appear. When she fades, Wendel is attacked by the Airship and Fuji is captured.
Sumo returns here later to ask Cibba about obtaining Excalibur, but is directed to Lorim instead, as Cibba has gone there to deal with Marilith freezing the place.
Sword of Mana[]

Wendel is expanded into three sections, the third of which being where the Temple is located.
After Duke and Elena visit Vinquette Hall and meet with Count Lee, they are able to reach Wendel, where they meet Lester and Devius, who leave together.
From here, events proceed similarly to how they do in Adventures of Mana, save for Cibba's ritual being replaced with Duke asking about the Sword of Mana, so he can defeat Dark Lord, and Elena surrendering herself peacefully to avoid Duke and the others getting hurt.
Secret of Mana[]
In the 2018 remake, the capital of Lorim, mentioned in the "veedios" in Mandala Temple, is identified as Wendel. They fired missiles at the Empire when they threatened to take Wendel by nightfall.
Heroes of Mana and Trials of Mana[]
