Not enough info for Valsena split[edit source]

Subject pretty much says it all. I don't see enough data in there to orchestrate a split. However, the article in question could use a rework. Bug in Quote template[edit source]

I think you just inadvertently discovered a bug in the quoting template used to cite the character description. See if you can replace instances of the word Quote with the letter Q. Like so:

Randomized weapons & armor[edit source]

As you're taking notes on which treasures contain gear, make a note of your current party and where they are ordered. For example, I have Angela, Duran, and Charlotte up on this third run I have going. Since Angela is the heroine, the chest containing the helmet in Cascade cavern will always contain her first crown. So if you come to, say, the Burning Sands AND Duran is the first companion, then you pick up his weapon behind the large sand falls. Of course, YMMV. Swordzmanp236 (talk) 16:41, June 7, 2020 (UTC)

I'm not currently playing atm; I'm using footage from other gamers on YouTube. The one I'm following has a party of Hawkeye (main character), Angela and Charlotte. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIYD_BuJUBo

Based on that, the player will probably get a second Glass Ring when they have to Mario their way to a chest in the Dwarf Tunnels. That is, it's going to take some tricky platform-jumping to get that Accessory [C2]. There are at least four chests that require some insane maneuvering. The same goes for two little cacti. Mana Stone dungeons[edit source]

Just wanted to remind you that we're going to start getting into a lot of the more complex dungeon layouts as we continue finishing up the write ups. The ice and fire caverns won't have a lot of treasure until chapter V. Also, by design, you'll only be able to get one of the cacti the first time through. Always two, there are. Problem areas[edit source]

Just a quick follow up. Again, I've played the game in its entirety at least twice, so you can trust most of the stuff I place with you.

Three settlements are dependent upon who the leader is. That is to say we probably won't get that information right away unless we can find some resources that have played all three scenarios.

  • Getting into Altena, the Crystal Desert, or Dragonsmaw requires Duran or Angela to play the lead. If Angela is in any other position, the party must wait until Chapter VII to explore the city and castle.
  • Only Charlotte and Kevin as leads can dive into Ferolia, the Jungle of Visions, and Mirage Palace. If Kevin is in another slot, his Chapter VII quest opens Ferolia only.
  • Hawkeye and Riesz are required leads for Nevarl, Night Cavern, and Dark Castle. Interestingly, Laurent is sealed off after Chapter II unless Riesz is in the party, in which case her postgame starts there. Nevarl will open for Hawkeye later if he's anywhere else than lead.
  • Angela adds one room to the Labyrinth of Ice for her trial.
  • Hawk adds a room to Fiery Gorge; this one adds Mimiqueen.

A couple fields generate interference that prevents mapping; Lampbloom Woods II is but the tip of the iceberg. The Woods of Wandara are the other field in the main game, doing an evens-and-odds thing where the evens are blacked out. From memory:

  • Area II has two chests, including one on the left that has mild platforming.
  • Area IV has a chest on each side of the foreground.
  • Area VI has two hotspots, but that's it.
  • Area VIII has a couple hotspots on platforms, but the killer is Mispolm's Ring on the right side of the upper path; I can't tell you how many times I've gone "boing-boing-boing-boing-splash" trying to get that one chest.

Making tables fit[edit source]

I see we're using a lot of large images in tables, so that can make some things appear rather awkwardly on a tablet. I believe I may have come up with a solution. For the class strike tables, we need to set the column widths at 10%, 20%, 40%, and 30% respectively. Do you guys think you can do that? Swordzmanp236 (talk) 19:04, August 2, 2020 (UTC)

AoM schtuff[edit source]

Just wanted to give you a quick thanks for digging out some AoM/FFA stuff. That's been a huge hole we've needed to plug for quite some time.

Please keep in mind that whatever we do for AoM applies to FFA as well, and vice versa. Basically, it's 1:1. Based on the Playthroughs I've been watching, SWoM makes some pretty sharp turns from those two because a different writer who has not even seen the original games decided to take whatever path s/he felt was best. I will add that some of this was probably Nintendo's influence as well.

Template creation[edit source]

Got your message, so here's what you do: to create a template, you must add the Template prefix with a colon and no spaces in front of the colon or behind it. The 9th Sword Orb glitch[edit source]

Was doing a little digging around, and via Reddit, found a photocopy of a Nintendo Power blurb here. Since it's usually not advisable to begin an article title with a number, I have the first hyperlink set as Ninth Sword Orb glitch. Interestingly enough, the 3D version also makes mention of a ninth orb and has an achievement if the player actually finds it. See what else you can sniff out, if you're interested. Stat charts and mobile devices[edit source]

Looks like you're doing a great job on making sure the class stat pages are on the up and up. That's good. What's not so good are the 2D stat charts at the bottom of each page — they don't render well on phones and tablets. So, I think we need to think of another way to fill in each square. Doing so may require the use of "conditional" programming; again, I have almost zero knowledge on how to do that. In the meantime, we could possibly use emoji markers to sub for cell coloring (e.g. 🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥). If for some reason you don't see red squares as I have typed here, then I'd like you to find another kind of mark that works. As always, thank you for all that you do, and good luck. After fiddling for 2 hours on the Template:SD3stats I have to throw the towel for today as the length of each stat bar doesn't match the number ascribed in the code and thus isn't equal each time (see my Nightblade (Trials of Mana) for example and look at the STR, STA and INT stats all marked 15, but the length isn't the same)...I'll try again laterRabillion (talk) 03:13, 10 January 2021 (UTC)

I recommend recoloring five of the rows to match the 3D representation or using shades of red to fit with the 2D scheme, but that right there is an objet d'art. Thanks!
