The Spikey Tiger Boss Line has two variants: Spikey Tiger and Blue Spike.
Spikey Tiger[]
Statistics[]
- Level 15
- HP: 520
- MP: 21
- EXP: 210
- GP: 288
- Weapon Orb: Boomerang
- Weakness: None
- Location: Witch's Castle
Strategy[]
For most, the game has been easy—that is, if the party has not been skewered by Chobin Hoods or smacked around by the various other nasties on the way to and through the castle. The difficulty is about to spike, so prepare the party by grinding each member to level 10. Stock up on Candy and Chocolate as needed, and maybe a Cup of Wishes or two; though expensive at this point, Neko is the most convenient source, else hoofing it back to Pandora is the cheaper of the two. Picking up any missed armor is also encouraged; Popoi should have a Spiky Suit, the Rabite Cap, and a Power Wrist. The other two should be well equipped from the tangle with Tropicallo. As for weapons, the Bow and Boomerang should be leveled to 1.
Spikey Tiger has a quartet of devastating attacks, all the while hopping around the arena and leaving little room to maneuver: first, it stomps and curls into a ball to knock the target unconscious; second, it has fire breath; third, it can weaken its prey with Fire Bouquet, dropping its attack strength. Worse still, the fire attacks can set a party member ablaze, which must be healed quickly. Lastly, he has a powerful close-range bite that hits hard, so striking and strafing is a must.
From here, though, the strategy is simple. If it jumps to the ground, smash it with a charged melee weapon; but if it bounds onto one of the two elevated platforms, blast it with a missile shot. Stay out of its way in between phases, and heal when necessary.
Blue Spike[]
Statistics[]
- HP: 1980
- MP: 99
- DEF: 45
- EXP: 9150
- GP: 3840
- Weapon Orb: Bow
- Weakness: None
- Location: Light Palace
Strategy[]
Blue Spike is a relative of Spikey Tiger, only pathetically easier. From his looks, you may think that he has a weakness to fire, but in reality, he has no weakness at all. It does not really matter, as spells do not seem to affect this boss much as with other bosses, although Dark Force MIGHT do a little more damage than the other spells. If your party is equipped with Battle Suits, Lazuri Rings, and Dragon Helm/Duck Helms, then the only thing that you will take damage from is Blue Spike's fire magic. Wail on him with power attacks, and use the same tactic like you did when fighting Spikey Tiger. When he starts to blow, he is faking his death...but when he blows up the second time, he is dead.
