Shadow Angela is a boss in the 3D remake of Trials of Mana. It is one of the six trial bosses of Chapter VII, and guards the Sage Sphere needed for Angela to advance to Class 4. The doppelgänger may be found in the Labyrinth of Ice after visiting Queen Valda in Altena to inquire about the Sphere.
Story[]
Valda the True Queen inform Angela that she must defeat her shadowy opponent in order to win the Trial of Queenship. Upon arriving at the Labyrinth of Ice, the party finds a new path leading to the monster's area.

Preparation[]
With some luck in planting good seeds, Angela should have her best Class 3 armor set and staff to equip. Honey Elixirs, Chocolate, and Faerie Walnuts are also good bets. The player will also benefit from their own quick thinking and evasion skills as well. As for spells, the player should prioritize fast charge time over raw power, which means some higher-level moves like Explode, Spike Freeze, and Earthquake are off the table.
Battle[]
This is a one-on-one battle with emphasis on speed and evasion. Angela's clone has access to most of her wide-area spells; although these are weaker, it makes up for its faults with dual-casting. The player should take note of the area of impact and dodge out of harm's way. It alternates between attacking and casting as well, so using these breaks to attack or heal is crucial to success. Staying on the move should aid in avoiding the worst of the damage, but in the end, persistence has great rewards indeed.
