Story[]
Riesz inquires his father about her missing brother
Nestled atop the highest mountain peaks, the Kingdom of Laurent is said to be impenetrable due to the strong winds surrounding the citadel, which act as a protective buffer against any interloper. Riesz, princess of Laurent and captain of the guards, is in the middle of a battle atop a neighboring cliff along with some amazons. After slaying the enemy, she feels the wind crying; the monster population increases day by day in the mountain. Returning to the citadel, Riesz focuses on finding her younger brother Elliot since it's time for his personal training. After several unsuccessful attempts, she ventures into the throne room to ask her blind father, King Joster, about her younger brother's whereabouts. The old man declares he's on the grounds and that he can clearly sense him. Riesz then tries to ask Alma if she's seen her brother.

Alma seems surprised to see that Elliot isn't with her since he's always by her side. The old woman reminisces how the poor young prince never knew their dearly departed mother since she died during childbirth. Young Riesz swore to show her brother as much love and affection as she could to make up for the loss of their mother. Meanwhile, Elliot is seen wandering near the castle walls, where he is greeted by a mysterious magician who claims to be performing in these mountains.
Elliot meets Bil & Ben
After seemingly multiplying himself and making some birds appear out of thin air, the wandering magician asks Elliot to show him the passage under the citadel, to which the young prince agrees. In the control room beneath the citadel, Bil and Ben trick the young prince into using his royal key to deactivate the crystal controlling the wind buffer around Laurent so that his deceased mother can descend from heaven and greet him. They add that her sister hides this fact from him and is keeping her mother all to herself. Meanwhile, Riesz has gathered info that Elliot might have ventured under the citadel and decides to continue her search there. Hearing Riesz calling to her brother from afar, Bil and Ben force Elliot to nullify the wind barrier protecting the citadel.

Alas, Riesz is too late to prevent the inevitable and finds Bil and Ben cackling at her, taunting her that the Nevarlian army is undoubtedly taking her precious citadel as they speak, endangering her father's life. This grave news alarms Riesz, who dashes back to the surface while calling for her brother to follow her step. Unfortunately, Elliot is too slow and is captured by the two evildoers. Bill and Ben manipulate the young prince by telling him that she ran away to save her own skin and that she doesn't care about him. When Riesz returns to the castle's entrance, she is horrified to see the citadel burning and bodies lying on the ground.
Riesz discovers the Citadel is being raided
Upon checking the nearest guard, the guard comes to her senses and tells Riesz that sleeping spores were spread throughout the castle once the wind stopped, and to save the king at once. Distressed by her father's situation, Riesz rushes through the throne room, combatting several enemy troops hindering her progress. After making it to the citadel's main room, she discovers her father, the King, lying on the floor near his throne. While coming to his rescue, Joster regains consciousness and recognizes his daughter's voice.

He tells Riesz that the wind told him that this day would come but he could not stop it since the shift in Mana dulled his senses. He then adds that Elliot is no longer in the citadel and that the enemy has him, ultimately pleading with his daughter to get him back before closing his eyes for good. At the same time, the Commander of the raid is thrilled to see the premises ablaze and tells her fellow soldiers to retreat to Nevarl Fortress to report their success to Flamekhan.
Riesz undoing her hair
A grieving Riesz is seen exiting her hometown, now in shambles. Not knowing what to do, she recalls her father telling her that the Priest of Light has answers for those in need. She bids a final farewell to her country by entreating her late mother to take care of her father and fallen comrades, and that her mother's ribbon will protect her on her journey. Riesz then goes down the mountain path and takes a ferry to Jadd Stronghold.
