"Reach for the Stars" (星に願いを Hoshininegaiwo, lit. Wish Upon a Star) is a quest and storyline in Legend of Mana.
Premise[]
This quest is a part of Geo academy storyline.
In this quest, professor Mephianse steals an old spellbook from the Geo library and leads his students on an expedition into Duma Desert to experiment with it. The alarmed professor Kathinja sets off in pursuit to recover the book.
They find Mephianse's students setting up a cannon at the far end of the desert. Mephianse claims to have learned the secret of creation of a star and declares he will make the stars move to his will and fall upon Fa'Diel. However, the lost magic turns out to be a spell to create fireworks.

Talk to Kathinja in the first screen of Duma Desert to start the quest.
Prerequisites[]
The player must have the Sand Rose Artifact in possession.
Note : DO NOT LEAVE THE DESERT DURING THIS QUEST.

Place the Sand Rose AF in the space directly to the right of Lake Kilma to create the Duma Desert. Enter the Duma Desert.
Agree to help the Students and then follow these instructions:

Talk to the students and choose to go through them. Exit at the Top of the screen and follow these instructions:
- Lower Left
- Up
- Through the students
- Left
- Left
Tell Kathinja that you are ready and get ready to fight 2 Axe Beaks.
