Raxa is a minor antagonist who joins the heroes and playable characters of Echoes of Mana. A young Scorpion Folk girl and outlaw who made the ruins of Riyama her playground, she befriends Quilto/Quilta after they defeat her in battle.
Personality[]
Raxa is very cocky, abrasive, taunting, and even obnoxious at first glance. Her first approach is to be rude and impatient, dismissing people as irrelevant or upfront scorning if they annoy her, and she can attack without provocation. She is laid-back, carefree and fun-loving, only doing something if it perks her interest. She takes a liking to people she finds amusing, but it takes a while before she warms up to them and regards them as friends for real.
In truth, Raxa heavily suffered from ostracism in her childhood, so she keeps her distances and plays the monster she feels people expect her to be, fearing rejection. As such, she is cynical and dismissive of kindness and pretends not to care, at least until she cannot deny it. She enjoys taunting, teasing and ever pranking her friends, and is dismissive of foes.
Powers and Abilities[]
Being a scorpion-girl, Raxa has powerful poison-based abilities. She is very fast, agile and nimble, wields clawed-gloves with perfect accuracy and can fire energy balls.
In Game[]
Raxa grew up in an orphanage. She was greatly looked up to by the younger orphans, to whom she acted like a surrogate big sister, and helped around. A wealthy young lady was a regular donor to the orphanage, and considered Raxa a friend, encouraging her to be more open despite her defiance. Being burdened by her family expectations and social obligations, the lady told Raxa that she would be free for the two of them, affecting Raxa more than she would care to admit.
The heroes meet Raxa in the ruins of Riyama, intrigued by the ruckus they are making. She prepares to attack them despite Blainchet's intervention. She is defeated, but she finds the heroes funny and joins them.
After the Ebon Knight's defeat, the False Goddess Dema unveils her plot to usurp the Mana Goddess, dispersing the heroes throughout the multiverse.
The heroes find Raxa, having become the leader of the bumbling Scorpion Army. Raxa disturbs them, stating that Dema's goal is not without merits, forcing them to reflect about it and decide whether it should be implemented, deciding against as it would do more harm than good. She challenges them to prove the strength of their convictions if they want her to join them again.
Then they defeat Sheex, and go on to save the multiverse from Dema's demented dream.
As a Boss[]
Both battles against Raxa are rather easy. She is quite powerful and strikes with her claws and stinger-tail, but can be pummelled with attacks and combos. She gathers energy to fire a purple Power Sphere over a short distance, or cast Venomous Sweep, a powerful stinger combo spreading acid puddles all around, poisoning the heroes at contact.
She must be pummelled when she crouches down, lest he unleash her deadliest move: Poisonous Burst, a powerful, lasting cloud of purple poison all around her, dealing huge damage and poison status.
She fights the same in the second battle, but she is more powerful and dangerous, being able to hurl green energy waves along the ground or energy crescents with her strikes.
Playable Units[]
Raxa's Swashbuckler Supreme unit.
Raxa as her normal self is a 2 star-unit, using gloves as weapons and the Wind Element. She attacks with some her boss moves, namely Power Sphere, Hailing Gale, and her special attack Venomous Sweep, two stinger strikes that no longer spread acid but can still poison foes.
As the Swashbuckler Supreme, she is a 4 star unit with the same weapon and the Water Element. She attacks with Offensive Strike and her special technique Treasure Trap that can poison foes. She can also boost strength with Way of the Outlaw.
