Qi'Diel is the world in which Visions of Mana takes place. It used to be the world of Fa'Diel, as in every game of the series, until the Ahrvet's War Irrevocably transformed it.
History[]
Untold millennia before the start of the story, the world of Fa'Diel was divided between five Planes of Existence: The Spirit Realm, likely the dwelling of the Mana Spirits; the Mortal Realm, the Physical Plane; the Mystic Realm, dwelling of the Benevodons; the Ethereal Realm where dead souls return before being reincarnated by the Tree of Mana; and the Arboreal Realm where the Mana Sanctuary was located away from mortals.
Alas, greedy humans corrupted the Power of Mana to wage global wars, dire enough to deplete the flow of Mana and throw the Five Realms into disarray. To such a point that they were all merged, resulting in the chaotic world known as Qi'Diel. This drove the Benevodons into a frenzy, forcing the Mana Goddess to appoint Daelophos as her Mana Knight to restore peace.
Alas, Daelophos would go mad in turn, forcing Khoda to seal it, and his curse forced the exhausted Goddess to enter a slumber, necessitating the sacrifice of Alms every four year to sustain the dwindling power of Mana and keep the curse at bay.
