Popoi's Notebook is a key item in Sword of Mana.
Sold for 10 Lucre by Niccolo in Topple Village at the beginning of the game, It functions as a map and encyclopedia as well as potential linked friends register.
There are four sections in the notebook:
World Map[]
Here the player can see all previously visited landmarks during is adventure.

Monster Album[]
A list of all the regular enemies in the game with the amount defeated placed next to each name. The player can further select a particular monster to see its various stats. There are 119 in total.
