- For the antagonist of the same name in Sword of Mana, see Julius (Sword of Mana).
Julius is the court mage of the Glaive Empire. Despite appearing at first as the second-in-command to the Dark Lord, he is revealed near the end as the main villain and final boss of Final Fantasy Adventure and Adventures of Mana. He is the real power behind the throne, planing to seize the Tree of Mana and rule Fa'Diel.
Story[]
According to the backstory, Julius is the son of Vandole, who was abandoned in a cave as a baby when the Gemma Knight toppled his father's empire. He was raised by the Dark Lord to serve him with his immense magic powers, but he used his liege from the start, intending to restore the Vandole Empire. He also seeks to marry the Heroine whom he fell in love with, not caring whether she accepts.
The Julius from Adventures of Mana is an opportunist and obsessed with reviving the Vandole Empire. He also falls in love with the Heroine and intends to marry her.
Battle Strategy[]
Julius' First Form[]
Julius divides himself into three wizards, who teleport and hurl fireballs. Sumo must destroy all three to prevail. (He casts more spells and his doubles must be taken down first in Adventure of Mana.)
Julius' Second Form[]
Julius's first demonic form is large and fast, but open to sword strikes. Sumo must dodge when he dives and beware his lightning attack. (He strikes with elemental punches or kicks and an explosive divebomb in Adventures of Mana.)
Julius's Third Form[]
Julius is seemingly killed and Sumo reunites with Fuji, but the villain resurfaces under his mightiest form. He teleports and double-casts Nuke, but Fuji can heal Sumo.
