Godhand (ゴッドハンド, Goddo Hando?) is a recurring class in the Mana series.

Seiken Densetsu 3[]

Kevin Godhand (ToM)

“Literally attaining the echelons of fighting divinity, the Godhand has unlocked the secrets of sentient transcendence and inner strength of a heavenly plane within themselves. Through coming to master one's heart and mind to harmonize with their own being and body, they have attained a level of skill that surpasses the mundane, and this level of mastery is also said in legend to be the sign which one has achieved a state of lofty existence to where holy spiritual power exudes from their very being. From this, the Godhand is able to flow with creation itself, able to tread on the borders of life and death free from inner tumult to follow through with their calling, and use their newfound spiritual powers to help unlock such potential in their fellow man and clear worldly obstacles, from healing pain, alleviating inner turmoil, and even knowing who to send back to the other side, to ease others paths to enlightenment.”

The Godhand class is the Light-Light branch of the Grappler class for Kevin. In the original Super Famicom version of Trials of Mana, the Godhand focuses more on being a direct support and well rounded offensive supporting class, allowing for many roles, be it for a player choice lead character, a physical support unit for CPU control, and as well for instant high tech use through Aura Wave and limited healing. While it lacks the raw power of Dark classes, the Godhand expands greater on the technical aspects that the Monk provides, making it necessary that thought and adaptive strategy be focused on to unleash its full potential and synergy with other classes. This means that the Godhand is still able to access Pressure Point to level the playing field if strength is needed, and can help bring about an onslaught of techs for other physically orientated or tech powerful members when battle is about to be over with.

Kevin's appearance as a Godhand has him wear the Byakko Uniform, a martial arts uniform said to be made of the fur of the ferocious white tigers of the spiritual realm known as Byakko, and pairs it with the Ivory Band, which is an accompanying headband with ivory beads and setpieces, both of which were said to belong to a martial arts luminary of legend who helped to bring order and shaped the martial arts world of Fa'Diel. Though official art depicts Kevin wearing rather the Suzaku Uniform and the Ruby Band, this may further draw upon historic displacement of legends, and can be interpreted as being dyed red to tie in heavier with the lores of the Red Uniform, a series of uniforms said to belong to Monks who fought fiercely but wore their uniforms as a vow that the only blood to be shed in the battlefield would be their own in the sake of sacrificing themselves to protect the weak. The weapon he wields is known as the Spiral Claw, a prismatic sparkling purple crystal bladed knuckle made for piercing defenses with its nail like talon, and bears the Beryl Armlet as an accessory, which is a battle worn gold gilt armlet inlaid with a spiritual emerald, and is the legacy of a lineage of monks whose spirits will pass down their strength and wisdom to its rightful inheritor. Nobuteru Yukii has said that the design of the Godhand is reminiscent of martial arts heroes, from Son Goku of Dragon Ball, Ryo Sakazaki of King of Fighters, and Ken Masters from Street Fighter.

In the 2020 remake of Trials of Mana, the Divine Fist is given further build to be a more offense orientated class focused on building up SP and utilizing Class Strikes consistently and consecutively while also maintaining its skill based and direct support approach. As the Godhand comes to gain passive abilities that slowly and gradually build up its SP gauge, Aura Wave has been reworked to accelerate SP gain by attacking, which further boosts the Divine Fist's technical capabilities and synergy as they can lead a team faster to execute all out Class Strike assaults or repeatedly wear down and defeat foes with a constant onslaught of their own Class Strikes.
