Fortune-tellers are minor non-playable characters in Trials of Mana.

They can be found in several towns and grant guidance to characters by reading their fortune.

Aften being scolded by his younger sister Wendy, the young warrior wanders town in search of some distraction. Upon hearing that the local fortune-teller could help him take revenge on its adversary becoming stronger, he promptly meet her to see if she could help him. After realizing that the fortune-teller could only see into his future he rudely stops her by stating that all he believes in is strength. Bemused but intrigued by the fortune-teller's statement, Angela then decides to hop on the last ferry to seek an audience with the infamous holy figure.
