Wiki of Mana
Floaret (in game)

“A botanical being that has taken on the form of a divine bird imbued with the vitality of a great, primordial tree. It uses the fruit it bears on its body to attack its adversaries. When it photosynthesizes, it can amplify its strength further by causing giant flowers to bloom on its wings and tail.”
—Bestiary entry

Floaret, named Foulkus in the original Japanese, is the new Benevodon of Wood replacing the pumpkin-headed Mispolm who serves as a boss in Visions of Mana. It drains the life-force of vegetation and absorbs solar light to boost itself.

Role in the Story[]

Floaret is first seen when the Benevodons attack the Mana Sanctuary, only to be repelled by the Barrier protecting it, due to three of them having already been slain. It is later fought in the Floating Island of Ulul, having devoured all the buds of Julei's Sproutlings friends in Mylos Woods. The heroes destroy it, saving its captives.

Boss Battle[]

Floaret's level depends on how many Benevodons were slain before it. Level 35 if fought after the first mandatory three, 38, 40, or 43 if second-to-last. It is huge, can glide over short distances or do a looping, strikes with its talons, beak, wings and tail, or jumps repeatedly to smash its beak on the ground.

The heroes must dodge its cluster of berries, and destroy the ones glowing yellow before they bloom into plant monsters. When it absorbs sunlight, thorny vines erupt from the ground below the heroes. It can also spread green gas or spin to cause powerful whirling gusts, all around itself.

It resists Wood but is vulnerable to Moon, so spells and element-infused weapons are advised. The more wounded it gets, the more agressive it becomes and the more monsters it summons.
