Engulfed, also known as Ablaze, is a recurring status ailment in the Mana series. A possible side effect of fiery terrain and fire-elemental magic, the Engulfed condition causes the victim's body to burn out of control, draining HP at a more rapid rate than poison. In the 3D version of Trials of Mana, it is coupled with Darkness and obscures an affected character's field of view. Like poison, this status subsides over time, or it can be cured with a Medical Herb.

Engulfed makes its debut, and is first used by the Spikey Tiger in Elinee's Castle. It can later be used by Primm when casting Blaze Wall or by striking an enemy with a weapon infused with Flame Saber magic, which Primm can cast.
