The Dwarf Elder is a non-player character in Secret of Mana.
Story[]
He is the eponymous head of the Dwarf Village. When he is first met, the Dwarf Elder is running a freak show from his home. Collaborating with Popoi, a young sprite who recently washed up in the area, he sets out to scam unsuspecting visitors out of their hard-earned GP. While Popoi lays out their melodramatic act, the Dwarf Elder tries to make the case that they have a 10000 GP debt to work off. Our heroes visit the freak show while waiting for Watts to make an axe, but neither Randi nor Primm is completely convinced that what they see is true. After the show, the pair heads backstage and eavesdrops on the Elder and Popoi, who blurt out the whole shady scheme. The adventurers demand their money back, and the Elder apologizes for his part in the act. As they leave, all are startled by a rumble below ground, to which the heroes rush. Tropicallo has been unsealed. The heroes battle and defeat it. Impressed, the Dwarf Elder offers Popoi in the hopes that Randi and Primm will help them recover their fractured memory. Popoi joins the party after a brief chat, always ready to pull their next prank.
If the party later returns to Dwarf Village after reaching the Upper Land, the Elder will give them the Minor Mallet.
