Dolan is the Benevodon of Moon. It appears as a boss in Trials of Mana and is one of the seven Benevodon Bosses in which the Player(s) can tackle in any order they chose, it takes the form of a giant, demonic bipedal fanged animal creature that resembles either a goat, a horned wolf or a dragon. Though it is assumed to be sentient, Dolan doesn't display any personality aside from a desire or instinct for destruction.
Background[]
Dolan was described as being an "incarnation of disaster" that existed before the world had been fully born. It wrought destruction on existence until the Goddess of Mana defeated it with the Sword of Mana and sealed it away inside the Mana Stone of Moon.
Release[]
When the villains in Trials of Mana obtain the Sword of Mana, they release the Benevodons from the Mana Stones. Once released, Dolan remains near the former location of the Moon Mana Stone in the Chartmoon Tower in order to build its strength in preparation for wreaking havoc across the land. As a result, the Benevodon becomes stronger depending on how many of its brethren the heroes have defeated before they challenge it.
Battle[]
Once the heroes reach the roof of the Chartmoon Tower, Dolan climbs up the outside of the tower and engages them. As it is the Moon Benevodon, many of Dolan's attacks can lower the maximum HP of the heroes, making them easier to kill. But other-wise, the battle with Dolan is not too hard, tho in the 2020 Remake, the Player(s) should make sure to destroy Dolan's Spiral Moon attack before it charges up and deals high damage. Also in the 2020 Remake, Delan's head is his weak-spot and can be easily target should Dolan's Spiral Moon Attack be destroyed by the Player(s).

Trivia[]
- Dolan is the only Benevodon without an elemental weakness.
- It remains unknown as to what the lower half of Dolan looks like.
- Dolan reappears in Children of Mana. It had fused with Zable Fahr to form Thaydol.
- Dolan is the largest Benevodon in Trials of Mana.
- Dolan has the distinction of being the only Benevodon Boss in Trials of Mana to be humanoid-like.
- In Trials of Mana, the musical theme that plays when battling Dolan is titled "Strange Medicine", which is often mistaken for "Black Soup". Interestingly, Dolan is unique in the fact that it is one of two bosses to have such a battle theme unique to them, with the other being Zehnoa, whose own battle theme, "Obsession", is unique to it.
- Unlike most of the Benevodon bosses that are Mythological Creature-like, much like Dangaard, the design of Dolan has a lot of possible inspiration to two or more Mythological Creatures as a pose to one:
- The first Mythological Creature that Dolan is based on, being a large humanoid goat, could be based on a Goatman, a Mythological Creature that is half-human and half-goat.
- The second Mythological Creature that Dolan is based on, being very canine-like that stands on two legs, could be based on a Were-Wolf, a Mythological Creature from the Medevil-Era in folklore, often described as a human who can transform into a wolf or a hybrid wolf-human form, typically during a full moon.
- The third Mytholological Creature that Dolan could be based on, being almost like a Dragon, could be based a Drake(much like Fiegmund), a Mythological Creature that is a large Dragon with no wings.
- Dolan is the only Benevodon Boss in the 2020 Remake of Trials of Mana with a ranged-move which is a shockwave ground attack in the form of Pummel, as opposed to the rest of the Benevodons who's ranged moves are projectiles launched from either the air (Land Umber and Fiegmund), mouth (Dangaard , Xan Bie and Zable Fahr) or from any parts of their body (Mispolm and Lightgazer).
