Class Change (Sword of Mana)

Class Change is a game mechanic in Sword of Mana. It enables the player character (Hero or Heroine) to customize their combat statistics as they level up. It basically functions as a hybrid of the original Final Fantasy Adventure class system and the one from Trials of Mana.

Basics

Whenever the player character levels up, they are prompted with a pop-up screen telling them to choose a stat distribution style or Class Type. Each class type grants 12 points among different attributes. The amount of points a class type can grant to each attribute is the same for each level up. Depending on the class type selected, each stat will be affected differently.

After a while leveling up, the player character can unlock classes tied to their stat boosts. There are three levels of class tiers: Yellow, Blue and Red.

• Yellow classes correspond to the base tier and require minimal level ups to achieve. Accessing yellow class takes 5 level ups.
• Blue classes are the middle or secondary tier and require the player character to have a yellow class in order to unlock them. Accessing a blue class takes 15 level ups.
• Red classes correlate to the highest tier and require the player character to have a blue class in order to unlock them. Accessing a red class takes 35 level ups.

Warrior Classes

These classes focus on power and defense stats, as well as increasing your sword and staff attack power. Light classes also give out Healing Light bonus power while dark classes offer a more varied augments.

Paladin

• Requirements: Warrior Lv 15 + Magician Lv 10 + Sage Lv 10
• Effects: Sword/Staff Attack +20 - Healing Light +20, Light Magic Attack +10

Warlord · Warmaiden

• Requirements: Warrior Lv 20 + Sage Lv 15
• Effects: Sword/Staff Attack +20 - Healing Light +40

Gladiator · Gladiatrix

Weapon Master
