“A divine being of crackling thunder and raging storms, it dwells atop a mountain perpetually plagued by wailing winds. It is responsible for causing the litany of paranormal weather phenomena in the region. Contrastingly, Besseroth was also tasked with encouraging harmony between the region's diverse ecosystems back in a time when it was venerated as a true deity.”
—Besseroth's entry in the Bestiary

Besseroth (Veiolos in the original Japanese) is the new Benevodon of Wind and Thunder, who serves as a boss in Visions of Mana.

Role in the Story[]

Besseroth is first seen when Daelophos sends the Benevodons attacking the Mana Sanctuary. The attack only fails to breach its magic barrier because the heroes already defeated the first three. It plagues the Wind Sanctum and the Vale of Winds of Longren with devastating, never-ending squalls and thunderstorms, until the heroes destroy it.

Battle against Besseroth

Besseroth's level depends on how many Benevodons were slain before it. Level 35 if fought after the first mandatory three, 38, 40, or 43 if second-to-last. It is huge, fast and agressive, swiping its wind-infused claws, jumping and flapping its wings to conjure Triple Tornado forwards. It is very vulnerable when it flies to breath a giant, lasting beam of lightning, but its attack is powerful so the heroes must keep away.

It will fly to surround itself with a tremendous, long-lasting tornado that vaccuums the hero and causes lightning strikes all around. When it starts crackling with electricity, the heroes must pummel it to interrupt its deadliest move: a tremendous lightning onslaught all around it.

It resists Wind/Lighting but is vulnerable to Earth, so spells and element-infused weapons are advised. After losing half of its life-bar, it causes lightning to strike without end all over the field, so the heroes must remain mobile while minding its normal attacks.
