Anise's Stockade is a location exclusive to the 2020 remake of Trials of Mana. It comprises a majority of the post-game Chapter VII.

Location[]

Anise Stockade Portal TOM

The portal between planes is unsealed when the three heroes complete their individual quests to obtain the Class 4 relics. It is positioned over an archipelago in the southeast, nearest the Burning Sands. Switching to Class 4 is not required to enter.

Story[]

A dimensional plane located between the mortal realm and Mavolia, the Stockade was once a prison for the malevolent Anise the Witch when the sage Grand Croix had sealed her there with the Mana Goddess's aid in ages past. However, the extermination of the Goddess in the present day has weakened Anise's seal, thus allowing Anise to use the prison as a staging area for a planned takeover of the mortal realm as well as Mavolia. To this end, she fashioned a torture chamber from the memories of the heroes. Sensing her intentions, Grand Croix, now sealed in a book, urges the heroes to ascend to Class 4 and ready themselves to challenge her. Once they complete their trials, Anise beckons the heroes to take their best shot at her.
